It turns out my 𝘞𝘦𝘵𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 project is far from over, and just like many wetlands, the project is widening into new landscapes and forming deltas; intermingling streams and creations.
Fellow
Happy to announce that I'm the current fellow at AIRIE Everglades, an artist-in-residency at the Everglades National Park; a unique World Heritage site and wetlands currently listed as in danger of disappearing forever. I'll be spending the entire month of may here, engaged in sludge walks, canoe explorations, and artistic processes. I'm excited and so honored to meet and be with this ancient ecosystem full of non-humans. 🦎🐊💦
Public moments
On the 23th of the month I'll take part in a public talk about the residency and my artistic work, in a dialogue with Miami-based artist Lee Pivnik, who is the co-founder of the Institute of Queer Ecology. This free event will occur on Thursday, May 23rd at 7pm (GMT-4) at Greenspace Miami and will be streamed live on the AIRIE Instagram.
Please use the following link to RSVP.
On the 29th of the month, I will be showing the sculpture Mosquito Shrine that I made during the residency, at the AIRIE Nest Gallery, located inside the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center of the Everglades National Park. Open from 12pm until 5pm. I'll be there!
